Alan McKenna
Video & Film Producer / Director
After his degree in television production from M.T.S.U., Alan immediately started to hone his skills leading production management teams on the sets of high-profile country music videos over several years that included stars Reba McIntyre, Toby Keith, Pam Tillis, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless, Marty Stuart, Tracy Lawrence and many others.
He then went on to produce and direct the TV pilot, Partners In Design for HGTV starring Jennifer O’Neill, then over the next several years produced and directed numerous commercials, promos and award winning short films around the region including his own award-winning short movie, Silent Affair.
Alan’s career also had extensive stops along the way with two advertising agencies acting as Creative Director, Senior Producer, and Brand Manager. He worked exclusively as lead Producer/Director with many clients nationwide involving various productions including commercials and long form content. During this time, Alan was a screenwriting instructor for Watkins College for several years while serving as a board member for the Tennessee Screenwriting Association.
Alan has produced three major projects for the TV/Film production company, Uproar Pictures: the television pilot Wrestling Amateur Kaos, a psychological horror feature film, The Odds, and the demonic-possession horror feature, Gates of Flesh released in 2025.
More recently, Alan co-produced and line produced the feature film The Legend of Van Dorn (starring Lee Wilson, D.B. Sweeney, Joe Lando and Ellie Patrikios)— a bio pic of the remaining months of general Earl Van Dorn wrapped up in a love triangle during the American Civil War; slated for a 2026 summer release.
He also produced and line produced the film Without Prejudice (starring David Arquette, Rachelle Lefevre and David Mazouz)— a story of Harvey Browstone’s turbulent journey to become Canada’s first openly gay judge; releasing winter of 2026.
Currently, Alan is in development on three feature films to be produced within the next year.
